Our Community belongs to a group of Poor Clares called Capuchins, the name of a Reform which started on the 16th Century, by the Venerable Mother Lorenza Longo, to return to the original ideals of the Order of Saint Clare. The Poor Clares were founded by Saint Francis and Saint Clare in the 13th Century in Assisi, Italy. Our Monastery in Denver was established in 1988 with sisters from Mexico. We live in enclosure, which means that we do all our living inside the Monastery and go out only for special needs. Our manner of life is simple; the relationship among us is warm and familiar, as sisters in spirit.
